Mobility Cup 2012:
Congratulations to our sailors Dale K. and Sara C. for competing this year.  Dale K. managed 4th place in the Gold Fleet.  I wonder where CN is with our Martins?

Winter Storage:
Saturday, October 27th.

Reservoir Status:
Water level is really high.  Too bad it is this late in the season.

Clean up / Renos:
Anyone available to clean or paint or build a new ramp for next year?

Final day of season

Good winds and blue skies are making our last day of another shortened season a good one.

Thanks to all the clients and our small group of dedicated volunteers for making it happen once again.

Today, Camp Bonaventure enjoyed their last visit with DSA-A watching videos while it rained outside but are now enjoying a couple of sails before calling it a season.  Have a good off season and see you next year.

Only one week to go before we send the boats to Ottawa for the 2012 Mobility Cup.  Sara Cooper and Dale Keith will be representing DSA-Alberta.  Wish them
luck.

It's cool and raining but we are still sailing today.

A Free Day

No not "Free" sailing.  I mean no bookings today.  Time to catch up on a few other things around here.

W I N D

Today has to be the windiest day of the season!

50/50

One group and one individual sailor for the morning!  But, the first round of lessons is tonight!  We are very excited for our WS III sailors.

As well, we are looking for people to sell and buy 50/50 tickets.  We are trying to raise 5,000 from the draw.  Everyone can help!

Stampede Breakfast!

Our Stampede Breakfast starts at 10 today in South Glenmore Park at the DSAA building! Free Breakfast & Sails!

Boat Patrol has informed DSA-A that we should be sailing by Tuesday, July 2nd.

3). DSA-Alberta had a successful Outreach trip to Lake Wabamun.

Award

The Disabled Sailing Association of Alberta received the "2011 Community Partner of the Year" award from "Between Friends - Camp Bonaventure"!!

Reservoir Status

The Glenmore Reservoir remains closed through the weekend of June 8, 9, and 10.

As of today the Reservoir is officially closed until Friday..

WHITE SAIL I / II LESSONS

Due to reservoir conditions, we have postponed lessons to start on June 19th.  That is, no lessons tonight!!

It's very calm, overcast and light rain here at the reservoir this morning and the water is lower than yesterday.  Though we did get some sailors out yesterday - and it wasn't easy - we all (4 boats) spent some time getting out of the mud. 

EVENTS!!

Just a reminder that we will be attending the icebreaker regatta on lake chestermere this weekend.  If you would like to participate or volunteer, give us a shout.

As well, we will be running an outreach program at lake Wabamun on the 23-24th june, if you would like to be involved with this, we would love to have you!

its 2 degrees out here at the reservoir, but we will still be serving burgers etc to past and present volunteers or any other of our members so stop by for lunch if your in the area.  Who knows, there may even be sailing for the brave!

Yes we are at the reservoir now - Wednesdays and Saturdays for sure - readying for the season no matter what the water level is.  Boat patrol should be reinstalling the dock with the hoyers tomorrow, so all systems will be go!

bad news

The city has drained the reservoir and towed the docks away, we have no hoyer points.  Race night is off, all bookings are off until further notice.  We're working on it.  Watch here for daily updates--we'll try to get this water level situation sorted out.

The DSA-A Dock Office is now OPEN.

It's May 1st and time to get sailing.  On Saturday May 5th, we will be retrieving  the boats from winter storage and rigging them the following week - starting with the Martins.  First sails could be May 12th if the city gets the dock in place.  They have been busy already.

The Dock Office will be open Wednesdays and Saturdays through May so stop by and get your membership and say hello.  403.238.0689
